Microsoft Teams is it secure?
With the recent explosion of Video conferencing usage due to the Covid-19 outbreak causing the sudden increase in remote workers. Video conferencing has become a hot topic, almost as hot as the discovery of some very serious security flaws in one of the more popular video conferencing systems Zoom.
Zoom’s founder has acknowledged the serious security concerns and has promised to fix them, although acknowledging some will take a while to fix. In the meantime several major organisations and governments have warned against the use of Zoom. For those looking for an easy video system and not concerned about privacy it still remains an excellent choice especially with the great value from the free offering.
One of the newer products on the market is Microsoft Teams, whose use has also recently exploded, and one of the products we at Techtron encourage our clients to use. Here is a link to Microsoft full response to the question of MS Teams security.
Here is a quick summary of the key points:

- Your data is deleted after the termination or expiration of your subscription.
- We take strong measures to ensure access to your data is restricted and carefully define requirements for responding to government requests for data.
