How to Reset Your Microsoft 365 Password

If you’re unable to log in to your Microsoft 365 account, follow these simple steps to reset your password:

Step 1: Go to the Microsoft 365 Sign-In Page

Step 2: Click on “Sign-in”

  • Enter your email address associated with your Microsoft 365 account and click Next.

Step 3: Click on “Can’t access your account?” or “Forgot my password”

  • On the password prompt page, select “Can’t access your account?” or “Forgot password?” link.

Step 4: Verify Your Identity

  • You’ll be directed to the Microsoft password reset page.
  • Enter your email address again if prompted.
  • Complete the CAPTCHA to verify you’re not a robot.

Step 5: Choose Your Reset Method

  • Select how you’d like to receive the security code:
    • Email: A code sent to your recovery email.
    • Phone: A code sent via SMS or an automated call.

Step 6: Enter the Security Code

  • Check your email or phone for the code.
  • Enter the code into the provided field and click Next.

Step 7: Create a New Password

  • Type a new, strong password:
    • Use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
  • Confirm the new password.

Step 8: Sign In with Your New Password

  • Use a strong and unique password that you haven’t used before.
  • Update your recovery options (email and phone number) in your account settings to make future resets easier.
