Managing Your Passwords
Passwords, we all have them, we all have registered accounts all over the web. Managing them can be tough. Many of us either like to keep it simple, sacrificing security or have trouble keeping track of all the different ones we have. In this blog I will go through best practices of setting and keeping passwords.
Choosing Passwords
Passwords should consist of a mix of lower- and upper-case letters, numbers, and symbols, 12 or more characters, unique from one another, and hard to guess but easy for you to remember.
Keep Them Safe
Don’t share them with anyone or save in an insecure environment or near the device. Use hints. Change passwords immediately on compromise. Use multi-factor authentication which is basically two forms of passwords. Don’t trust anyone or anything that asks for your passwords.
Password Manager
This is the creme de la creme of password security. Some of them go as far as to offer a VPN service, but by and large they’re there to give you maximum security without having to keep track of them all.
How? A password manager asks you to save your log in details like username and password for every registration under just one main password like your pin or google account.
That about wraps up a few key points on what you can do to keep your passwords safe. Tune in next week for more new and exciting blogs.
